Another teenager gone too soon.......

I write this post with a heavy heart having been to a funeral earlier today. A former student of mine passed away last week in a single car accident. Unfortunately the driver of the car was drunk, and Lawrence Ogunnowo, who I got to know in my three years at my old school, died at the accident scene as a passenger in the car. He was an AWESOME young man, full of life and potential. He had such zest for life and impacted the lives of so many others. It gives me peace to know he had given his life to Christ and lived the way has God called His followers to do. It saddens me so because so often I hear of teenagers losing their lives because of poor decisions of themselves or others. I hope that Lawrence's tragedy will impact the lives he touched while here on earth in a positive way. I hope young people learn to turn from their careless and sometimes destructive decisions and instead become purpose-driven individuals that positively affect society. I know God is in control and called this young man home as a part of his divine plan. I just hope that others learn from his death and live life has it is meant to be led with passion, zest, and purpose (myself included). Rest in peace Lawrence Ogunnowo, you will be missed an my prayers are with your family.
